It's true. I am in fact, in 7th Grade GT class. It's fricken hard. They say it's supposed to be challenging, but us Gifted people don't like to be challenged. We want our maids to come and fetch us a glass of lemondade with four scoops of sugar, three ice cubes, a medium sized cup and a RED bendy straw, dammit! We have no time for jobs, as we can pay our butlers to write us checks with phony names. But we won't get arrested. Know why?

Cause we're GT, DAMMIT!

Ahem. Yeah, my lunch ladies are Sigma. And fat. Like, 500 pounds.

Where do you live??? Man down here in Texas!!! I went to a concert for Thr3e:AM and my body was baked! It was hotter then freakin' "Rock the dessert! mmmmm Fig Pudding!"

My gifted class was pretty lame. We learned french phrases and drew pictures. Watched movies and played board games too. Not challenging at all.

'Course, it was 5th grade, not 7th.

Texas, Bassium. Doesn't it say that on my HRFWiki page?

-----------------

Last year we made some sort of Rube Goldberg machine. Ours turned on a light switch.
1.Cell Phone vibrates, releasing marble.
2.Marble goes down tunnel.
3.Marble hits dominoes.
4.Dominoes hit the Hot Wheels car on that thing that makes it go really fast.
5.Car goes up ramp and hits a tilted piece of cardboard.
6.Marble rolls down ramp.
7.It falls in a small bag connected to a light switch and turns off the light.

It took like, seven months.

I was in gifted from 3rd until 9th grade...after that I started getting stoned, and then is when I realized...GT sucks! So I switched over to normal classes.
As for that project, wouldn't it be easier to just turn the light off by hand?

Alright, you don't completley understand. Rube Goldberg was a guy who used to draw cartoons about crazy machines that would do simple tasks. You know, like those machines that Tom would make in the old Tom and Jerry.

Remember, GT is for smart people, and is supposed to be hard.

...Isn't Rube Goldberg a family guy character?
Yeah, he's the dad of that dude with the glasses and retainer

NachoMan, September 3rd, 2006, 11:58 am

...I don't watch family guy..

You think Rube is a Family Guy character!? And you've been in GT!?! For shame! :p

To be fair, I was in the honors track until college, and I don't know who Rube Goldberg is.

Just looked it up online, turns out the guy's name is Mort Goldberg
